UMASCE Consultation 2015

Within, Beyond & Alongside

July 31 – August 3, 2105
St. Joseph Abbey, Covington, LA

Save the date for UMASCE 2015 consultation! Come to the beautiful St. Joseph Abbey in Covington, LA and pass a good time. Nestled in the pine forests on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain this 1200 acre Benedictine monastery and seminary welcomes guests to their Christian Life Center. Just 4 miles north of Covington and 30 minutes north of the Greater New Orleans area, it is a retreat center that offers quick access to urban living. The design team has put together a program that considers where we have been, and looks forward to directions we may need to take in the future. The theme “Within, Beyond & Alongside” will explore what Christian education and formation may need to take within the church, beyond the church and how academia works alongside both. The program includes worship at a historic UM church on the edge of the French Quarter, and a mission opportunity with that congregation. Oh, and time to explore New Orleans.

About this Web Site

It seems best to use this web site more as a location for documents to which we need to refer than for ongoing information, except for the purpose of providing for consultation registration, etc.

The list of members of UMASCE will no longer contain contact information, so if you are wishing to locate someone please contact Ben Marshall at and he will provide you with how to contact that person. This change seems best for security purposes.

If you are not already a member, or have let your membership lapse in the last year or so, we strongly encourage you to join or renew your membership now. The Building the Future project is a very important one and will yield some exciting results, but only if we have everyone possible working on it.

You can join or renew by simply clicking here on Member Sign-Up and filling out the information and sending it on by email. Then send your check for $40 for regular membership or $20 for retired or student membership to the address foung on that page. You can also send in $70 for two years of membership.

If you have questions or need further help please email Ben Marshall at
